For the June Consultation Hours, we prepared handouts for participants to use when creating their slides for assignments. We ensured that key points were covered to help develop concise and effective PowerPoint slides to convey ideas effectively in classes. In the July Consultation Hours, we mainly focused on providing all-round support for participants, especially freshmen who might still have concerns about university life.
For both events, we conducted detailed surveys to assess participant satisfaction. We discovered that many attendees learned about the events through campus posters and Manaba announcements. Inquiries about presentations were mainly related to design and layout issues, followed by trouble with speaking confidently and limited knowledge of PowerPoint. General inquiries were mostly about reports and exams. Participants from both events responded that they were able to resolve their issues relatively well.
These surveys have revealed very useful insights into how we can advertise events more effectively and what the major inquiries we receive are. We will apply these findings to future events to provide better and more useful support, so please do stay tuned for our upcoming events!
