IMコースでは現在44名の生徒をカナダに派遣しており、定期的に現地での留学の様子を留学生からの協力を得て報告させていただいております。

今回は2022年4月から留学しているUさんに協力してもらい、現地でのクラブ活動についてリポートをしてもらいました。

スポーツは時に英語を超えたコミュニケーションツールとなります。

ソフトボールを通してどのように留学先での人間関係が深まったのかを見ていきましょう。

This time I would like to talk about my extracurricular activities.
I'mcurrently involved in two extracurricular activities: the local u-17 softball team and the school softball team. In school softball, first there were tryouts, and I was accepted, so I was able to join the team there. I immersed myself in softball every day for three years in middle school, so I am very happy to be able to play this sport again.
On some days, there is a tournament with the school softball teams from morning until noon, followed by a tournament with the local softball teams in the evening, and sometimes I come home after midnight.
As in Japan, Canada is hot and humid on hot days, so games are sometimes played under the scorching sun.
While participating in extracurricular activities, there are times when it is hard. Overcoming them alone sometimes causes me the most pain. So I overcome them with my teammates. Everyone on the team is like a treasure to me. During games, when we can't communicate, we take time to talk until we understand each other, we encourage each other when we make mistakes, and we praise each other a lot for a good play. Whenever I stand in the batter's box, I can always hear the loud cheering of my fellow players. Every little thing like this is a great encouragement to me and a driving force that allows me to play with all my might.
I do my best every day to be a person who can support the team. And through softball, I have been able to find what it is to be myself. I will continue to practice every day for the big tournament in August!
