A month has passed since I started to go to school. I found a lot of differences between schools in Japan and ones in Canada, and I can make many new discoveries every day! Now, I’d like to write here about my most enjoyable school day so far in Canada.
First, why the day became the most enjoyable day for me is because I watched a basketball game at school, which was marvelous. Our school has a strong basketball and volleyball team. The game was the final game between our school’s basketball team and another school. During the third period to fourth period, we, students, didn't attend classes, and dedicated everything to support our team. At the end of the second quarter, our school’s team was losing by 10 points, but they gradually closed the gap. Eventually, they won by 10 points. When the buzzer sounded, all the students who watched the game stood up, applauding loudly, and rejoiced in their victory. The game impressed me so much. The players were much taller and bigger than Japanese, so the game was so powerful.
Though sometimes there were developments that almost started a terrible fight, which is something that we don’t see in Japan, it was the most interesting game I’ve ever seen.
Although I do not belong to any clubs in this school, it was an opportunity to make me think that I want to play some sports. Schools in Canada have usual activities such as ice hockey and curling clubs that are not found in Japan, and I would like to try them.
