SGH 　Rits Super Global Forum (RSGF) 2016 閉幕~実施報告⑤~

　11月15日（火）～19日（土）にかけて本校で開催されたRits Super Global Forum（RSGF）2016。

　最終日( DAY 5 )の午後は、Farewell Partyで別れを惜しみ再会を約した後、Closing Ceremonyで幕を閉じた。クロージングでスピーチをしたのは生徒副実行委員長の古野未久さん。委員長の鈴木あみさんではなく副委員長の彼女がなぜ？ということについては、2人のこころ暖まる物語があるのだが、ここではそれを記さない。

　スピーチの後、PVメディア・チームが寸暇を惜しんで作り込んだMessage VideoとClosing PVが流れ、フォーラムの終わりを実感すると同時に悲しみが支配していった。しかし、その後に全員が舞台に上がって歌を歌い、お互いの気持ちを確かめあうことができたようだった。

　学校全体を使った装飾やポスターセッションのポスター、パネル、その他諸々の撤収作業も協力して機敏にこなし、予定より早く終えることができた。

　本校では、”International November”と銘打ち、11月は本校の国際月間として科学の祭典であるJSSF、そして社会科学系のフォーラムであるRSGFを連続開催することになったが、JSSFという日本国内はもちろん海外でも大変評価の高い同フェアを長年にわたって主催してきた本校の強み・共有財産は、このRSGFで活かされたと思う。JSSFの特長としてそのホスピタリティーと装飾等のクオリティーの高さがまず挙げられるが、RSGFではその点を大いに参考にさせていただいた。ホスト受け入れについても、各ご家庭のご協力を得て今回は半数以上がホストステイとなり、様々な交流を図ることができた。海外生が帰国する際には、意気消沈するもの、涙にくれるものが後を絶たなかった。また、教員間の意思疎通を図る場を設定することもでき、学校間交流とは人と人との交流であることを実感することもできた。

　「芸術は自然を模倣する」。アリストテレスはかつてその著書『詩学』でそう言った。エイプではなくイミテート。JSSFという「巨人」のおかげでRSGFが成立したという点で、本校が目指すSSHとSGHのシナジー効果は証明できたと思う。

　教育の現場で「国際化」は今やディフェンスだ。「海外に行きました」。「国際交流をしている」というだけではもはや通用しない現状。いたずらに海外交流校の数を競うことはプレ･モダン的発想で、単に生徒たちや教職員が疲弊するだけ。交流することで何を目指すのか、どういう力をつけようとしているのか。国際交流の質が問われている現在、本校のアドバンテージはどこにあるのか。

　今年度の3年生は、本校がSGHに指定された年に入学し3年間そのプログラムを体験してきたいわば「一期生」。だからこそ、RSGFにも万全の体制で臨むことを心がけた。HSFW( Human Security Field Work in Kamagasaki)と題して、GLコース2,3年全員で大阪西成区釜ヶ崎地域をフィールドワークし、その成果をポスターセッション用に形にもした。生徒たちはこの取り組みで大きな衝撃を受けたようで、その後のRSGFへの向かい方に明らかな変化が見えた。「立命館のような恵まれた家庭の生徒たちが釜ヶ崎に行って何がわかるのか。生まれたとしても同情の感情が関の山ではないのか」「子どもたちをそのような地域に連れて行って大丈夫なのか」。このような意見があることは承知していた。しかし、それでも行く意義はあるとわれわれは考えた。同情ではなく、共感。そして、アクション。われわれのこの想いを生徒たちは少しずつ受けとめていってくれているようだった。そうわれわれは実感した。

　RSGFでの議論の詳細な内実については別の機会に譲りたいと思っているが、昨年度までわれわれが課題としていた、具体性を伴わないポリコレ（Political Correctness）なconclusion(solution)を昇華するということについては、最終日冒頭に具体性を伴った提案をしたグループもあったが、今年度も十分に克服できたとは言えなかったと思う。世界の潮流がポリコレ的なものよりも痛快さ・本音を語ることに喝采を送るようになった現在、そのような社会で生きて行く生徒たちにとって、この取り組みはどこまで有効なのだろうか。そう思う反面、そのような社会だからこそ、ポリコレの復権を目指す取り組みが必要だとも考えるのだ。

　SGHの挑戦は今後も続きます。

最後に。

　11月19日(土)、今回で第3回目となるRits Super Global Forum（RSGF）が閉幕しました。今回のRSGFでは、計10か国・地域の高校生約150名と本校に留学中の生徒2名（アメリカとオーストラリアから）、海外教員15名、立命館大学の留学生TAの約20人、総勢約250名規模が、合計10時間を超えるディスカッションを行い、“What Is the World We Want to Create for the Future?～Sustainable Approaches to Solving the Problems of Poverty～”というーマのもと、5つのApproachから、グループに分かれてディスカッションをしました。　

最後に生徒副実行委員長の古野未久さんの Closing Speech を紹介します。

　Good afternoon. The RSGF 2016 is about to end now. I think the whole forum has been very meaningful and helped us a lot to think deeply about poverty.

　In the small group discussions which we had at first, we were divided into 5 approaches, and deepened our understanding and ideas about poverty through sharing information and having discussions about the causes and solutions of poverty. Through these discussions, we were able to obtain a large amount of additional information and knowledge about the current problems causing poverty. We all learned of different kinds of ideas on how to tackle poverty from each perspective. Then, we had mini-plenary discussions with students who had previously discussed from different approaches, and our ways of thinking about poverty broadened. At last, through the panel discussion and the plenary session, we summarized the ideas from all of us, 140 of us. Those discussions helped us find how poverty may be tackled from multiple approaches. We also obtained more comprehensive ideas on the current situation of poverty.

　What is the world we want to create for the future? Imagine the world with no poverty. If this were realized, it would be huge progress toward making a better world. In order to fulfill it, strong cooperation between nations, such as giving support to developing nations and helping such countries become more stable, is required. Who is going to carry out these actions? Are we just going to leave these tasks to “smart adults”? To governments? No, I believe WE should perform the tasks to make the world better. Let me quote a poem by Robert William Service.

“Believe in your mission, greet life with a cheer. 

　There’s a big work to do, and that’s why you are here.”

　In order to tackle big problems like poverty, we must analyze the problems first, seek the causes, and consider what can be done to stop them and to solve the problems from many approaches. It is exactly what we did through this forum. Global issues are very complicated and made of many causes, so it may be impossible to solve this issue – poverty - perfectly. However, an accumulation of many small solutions such as those we have thought about during this forum will definitely contribute to reduce the extent and impact of the problem. 

　I genuinely appreciate this opportunity to have met you all. We had interesting discussions, some fun times and became friends. We have made a lot of memories during these 5 days. I will miss you very much. Thank you very much for coming all the way to Japan. I think it was a precious experience to gather from different areas and get to know many different ways of thinking. Let’s not waste what we have learned here, and let’s keep working towards eradicating poverty. Thank you very much.
