Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University, Presents a Special Lecture on AI and International Relations during a Visit to Ritsumeikan!

This special event was made possible through the efforts of former United Nations Under Secretary General, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Assistance to Afghanistan and Pakistan, visiting professor, Tadamichi Yamamoto.
During the Q&A session, Professor Marwala kindly answered questions ranging from the hidden potential of "AI" to the maintenance or improvement of relations between nations, the role that AI can play, and more.
After the lecture, Ritsumeikan University President Yoshio Nakatani presented Professor Marwala with a bouquet, and those involved, including Dean Nishimura (International Relations), posed for a commemorative photo. Hopes are high that this visit by Professor Marwala will mark the beginning of deeper academic collaboration between Ritsumeikan University, especially the International Relations department, and the United Nations University.

The Writing Tutorial Program Fall Semester 2023 will start!
Students can take the tutorial sessions an unlimited number of times for free.
In survey of students who have used WTP, 97% said they would use the program again. And great reviews from the professors as well!
【What is the role of the Writing Tutorial Program?】
-to help students clarify and structure the ideas for their papers
-to help students notice what needs improving and offer advice and clues for how they can rewrite their papers
-to help students understand the rules of citation and plagiarism
-to answer students’ questions related to Academic Writing
Period: English / Japanese tutorial 1 November, Wednesday 2023 – 19 January, Friday 2024
Time: Varies depending on the date. One session is for 40-50min.
Eligibility: IR students who seek support and advice on writing assignments for their school courses.
Session Format: Face-to-face session (Koshinkan Building on the fourth floor), or online session via Zoom.
