Michael Loefflad discussed with R+ students how to manage in Japan
Michael Loefflad, Representative Director and President of DKSH Japan, shared his experiences as a corporate leader in Japan with students attending the Senior Seminar on Cross-cultural management supervised by Professor Schlunze.
Students learnt about the 154 years history of the Swiss trading company founded in Japan. DKSH Japan has built a profound marketing expertise and provides it to other companies. The broad portfolio of services helps other companies and brands to grow in various business sectors.
After his presentation, our students discussed his personal approach of doing business in Japan. The students found it ideal that he was expatriated and trained by the EU how to manage in Japan. Thus, students noticed that he developed cultural sensitivity by listening carefully to employees and clients and respecting their view as well. Students found that encouraging Japanese employees to use English was very valuable and were glad about the seminar which prepares them for the intercultural workplace.
